Survive The Night Door Guide: Damage, Repairs and Progression
Protect the Survive The Night doorway by separating enemy removal, repairs and door-tier upgrades, then respond to the problem your entrance faces.
The door is the entrance your Survive The Night house defense must protect. Repairs sustain it, attackers remove the enemies damaging it, and door-tier upgrades open access to higher structure upgrades.
Why Enemies at the Door Matter
A growing group at the entrance tells you that the current defense needs attention. Watch the door during that pressure instead of continuing to browse optional purchases. The opening Crossbow gives you damage; additional tower roles become useful when the enemies reaching the entrance outlast that opening.
Think about the continuing cause of damage. A repair can help the door endure while your towers work, but enemies still standing there keep applying pressure. Reinforcing damage and sustaining the entrance belong in the same plan.
Repairs and Upgrades Solve Different Problems
| Choice | Purpose | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Door being damaged | Sustain the entrance | Use Repair; consider in-range support |
| Enemies remain alive | Reduce continuing pressure | Improve effective tower damage |
| Structure upgrade locked | Advance the tier requirement | Upgrade the door |
Use manual Repair when the door is being damaged. If you add a Medical Base, put the door within its effective radius so the beam can restore Door HP over time. Treat that as a support role alongside attackers rather than another damage tower.
Door tier has a separate progression function: it gates higher tower and economy upgrades. When a desired structure upgrade is blocked by that requirement, improve the door and return to your intended purchase. Raising the tier and repairing ongoing damage are decisions with different purposes.
Respond When Door Health Keeps Falling
Start by addressing survival at the entrance. Repair under pressure and direct the next spending toward the weakness: enemy removal, door support or a blocked structure upgrade. Extra income is valuable when the defense has enough breathing room to benefit from it.
If you already invested in an attacker, consider whether it covers the entrance effectively. Shorter-range damage only helps when the enemies are within reach. When the problem is sustaining the door, adding another attacker and adding Medical Base support offer different contributions.
After the run, keep one practical lesson: was the door unsupported, was enemy damage too slow, or did a tier gate delay the upgrade you wanted? Use repair help or upgrade guidance for that specific next step.
