Survive The Night House Guide: Layout and Door Defense
Use your Survive The Night house as a defense base: position attackers around the entrance and balance build space between damage and income.
Your claimed house in Survive The Night is the base for your towers and income buildings. Plan the layout around its entrance: a useful structure should help defend the door, support it or fund the next purchase.
What Your Claimed House Does
House claiming is the start of building a defense, rather than the end of the setup. The opening walkthrough uses a Crossbow near the door followed by a Farm or Money Printer. Those structures establish two needs that continue throughout the run: damage now and money for later.
Begin with an available house and a functional opening. Spending a long time searching for a supposedly perfect plot is less useful than learning how your doorway behaves under pressure. This guide focuses on the defense you build inside the house, not a ranking of map locations.
Build Around the Entrance
| Choice | Purpose | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance attacker | Remove approaching enemies | Choose reach that covers the fight |
| Income building | Fund later structures | Expand while defense is stable |
| Medical Base | Restore Door HP | Keep the door within range |
Consider reach before adding an attacker. Crossbow provides baseline ranged damage. Flamethrower trades shorter range for stronger damage than Crossbow, so its job depends on reaching the entrance fight. Medical Base is a different choice: the door needs to be within its effective range for its healing beam to restore Door HP.
Leave room in your plan for those different purposes. Another attacker is useful when enemy removal is the problem. Door support is useful when sustaining the entrance is the missing job. A crowded collection of structures does not by itself mean the house has a balanced defense.
Income and Damage Must Support the Same Defense
Farms and Money Printers generate match Coins for structures and upgrades. Add income when the door can withstand the next investment, then use it toward a concrete improvement. If the entrance is already losing health quickly, prioritize survival before expanding the economy again.
Door tier gates higher tower and economy upgrades. When the upgrade you need is blocked, invest in the door, then return to that structure. Keep a little spending flexibility so the next entrance problem does not arrive after every available Coin has gone into an optional purchase.
Use claiming help if you are still setting up, or building guidance when choosing the purpose of your next tower.
